The Tunisian Workers' Communist Party (TWCP) is a marxist-leninist political party in Tunisia, which was prohibited for long, and was eventually legalized on March 18, 2011, upon decision by the national unity government.
The TWCP was founded on January 3rd, 1986. It has a youth wing (the Union of Communist Youth of Tunisia) and it publishes the magazine Al Badil. Outlawed by the Tunisian power till very recently, the TWCP had to remain clandestine and to act under cover. Hamma Hammami is the spokeperson of the TWCP and the director of Al Badil. The TWCP is a member of the October 18h coalition, along with the Progressive Democratic Party, the Democratic Forum for Labour and Liberties and some islamists.
