Le vendredi 16 juin, un jury populaire a acquitté Jeronimo Yanez, le policier de Saint Anthony (Minnesota) qui avait proprement exécuté un automobiliste noir, Philando Castile, il y a un an. Ce verdict scandaleux a été accueilli par des protestations indignées de milliers d'habitants des "villes jumelles" (Saint Paul et Minneapolis). Deux manifestations ont eu lieu, la première vendredi, date du premier anniversaire de l'exécution, et la seconde dimanche, à l'occasion de la fête des pères. Comme le montrent les photos ci-dessous, les protestations ont associé des personnes de toute condition. Des marches de protestation ont également eu lieu dans d'autres villes des USA, notamment Chicago et New York.
