Argentina: Indigenous Mapuches campaign for land rights

Teresa Bo

For years, members of the indigenous Mapuche community have battled with the Chilean government over land rights. Now, Mapuches in Argentina are also struggling to regain what they say is their ancestral territory. The land in question belongs to the Italian fashion giant Benetton. One of the group’s local companies owns almost a million hectares of land, mostly in Patagonia. Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports from Chubut in the Patagonia region of Argentina.
